news 02.16.08 :: TwoThousandEight . The Year of Yogoman Burning Band !!! YBB continues to dominate in the north northwest. Thanks for all of those who are helping spread the word about the band to you friends and neighbors around the world. The Burning Band is touring down I-5 in mid-February. Seattle, Portland, and Olympia are you ready to dance? See you soon! YBB's first 7" will be available shortly from Westsound Records. It will be available via the Pool or Pond store and at shows. The band has been working on some new recordings out at Actual Air Studio and the songs will hopefully be made available for purchase on some form of plastic disc and/or download sooner than later. These tracks are HOT! 10.01.07 :: Thanks to everyone for making this summer's Yogoman Wild Rumpus in the Boundary Garden such a success!!! Wow! It was fantastic time. Jordan Rain / Yogoman is going to continue the party at Callaloo every Friday, beginning this week, October 5. See you there! Jordan Rain / Yogoman will be performing a special acoustic show at WWU's Underground Coffeehouse on Wednesday, November 28. Keep an eye out for Yogoman Burning Band around Bellingham this fall/winter. Recorded with Bruce Harvie in Bellingham, the disc features seven members. lead by Jordan Rain/Yogoman, laying down some serious rock steady, soul, and reggae influenced tracks. Good fun all around. We're only just getting started and you'll hopefully see more mention of the album around the interweb shortly. Jordan is finishing up 10 days on the road, touring with Robert Blake. They started in Chicago and headed east in support of Robert's new album, The Beautiful & The Afternoon. Check out Jordan's tour report below for a glimpse into life on the road. "It has been going great. The Oswego show was f'ing epic in energy and crowd unity. Robert roped me into playing "Pass the O" in Buffalo (which was a great show too) and in Oswego. Participation was good in Buffalo but people really got into it in Oswego, everybody was getting ridiculous dancing. It was perfect. And our playing there couldn't really have been better. Sold a bunch of c.d.'s too. Robert really has some hardcore fans out this way, it's amazing. Aquarius Records (SF) was kind enough to include a review of the disc in their recent newsletter and we just dropped off their first reorder at the shop. WFMU requested a copy of Street Lights so whether you listen over the New Jersey airwaves or via internet, feel free to request a track of the album w/ your favorite free form WFMU DJ. What's Up Magazine continues their strong support of the Bellingham music community and reviewed Street Lights in their January issue. Blackmagicplastic gave a short shout out to Jordan and Pool or Pond. Hopefully a cut from the album makes it into the next Blackmagicplastic podcast. We're on a long path at a slow and steady pace, but you should start to see more of Street Lights in the blogosphere and hear more of it on the radio. Jordan's second solo cd, has him doing all of the work again. He wrote the songs, played each instrument, and recorded everything through the pinhole mic of his iBook. After some solid mixing in GarageBand and a mastering session by Doug Krebs, Street Lights was born. The album features eight new songs and eight answering machine messages, which combine to create an aural collage similar to Beck's early work or some of the classic stylings by The Feelings. Jordan's r&b/reggae/doo-wop influences, filtered through his punk/hardcore/indie roots are the focus of a majority of the songs on the album, but a few instrumental excursions are also included for your adventure.
